Hernando a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a postgraduate degree from the Insurance Institute of America in Insurance Claims Handling is the Chief Executive Officer of First Global Adjusters LLC a Florida Limited Liability Company. He obtained the Public Insurance Adjuster license in the state of Florida in December 2002 representing exclusively residential and commercial property owners throughout  Florida,Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and the United States territories of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Prior to becoming a Public Insurance Adjuster, Hernando handled thousands of claims on the other side of the insurance industry's fence maintaining an independent adjuster license in Florida, Texas, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands handling thousands of claims throughout the country on behalf of CIGNA Worldwide, Puerto Rican American Insurance Company, General Accident Insurance Company, AETNA, State Farm Insurance, The Hartford, Royal and Sun Alliance, Integrand Assurance, Universal Insurance, Seguros Triple S, CNA. Hernando also served as a Staff Senior Adjuster at Allstate Insurance Company in San Francisco, California and a General Adjuster for the CAGE CODE handling Flood Claims for the National Flood Insurance Program.

Hernando has served as an approved expert witness on causality and estimating the reasonable costs to repair and/or replace property in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria utilizing Xactimate, which is an insurance industry recognized program. He played a role as a Catastrophe Adjuster with Pilot Catastrophe Services’ assist team for Allstate Insurance Company in Miami, Florida.

To date, Hernando has adjusted thousands of claims in the span of four decades in the following named Catastrophes:

Hernando has authorized publications in 2005-2006 for the Florida Surplus Magazine and the Community Association Institute - Florida Gold Coast Chapter and a former Professor of Property Claims Handling at the Caribbean School of Insurance in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  

In 2005, Hernando was a guest speaker at the West Boca City Council in the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma.
